Up Blowing death for days, bug eyed, stealing stuff, stuck to my phone, catching rides, making cockroach deals to blow more, I lost my last baggie walking to the corner store. It was winter and the most maddening thing in my life happened because of it. As I ran back and forth down the few blocks I had traveled searching for my meth baggie I suddenly realized that with the ice and snow everywhere on the ground “ every fkn where” I set my eyes looked like meth! “Wow!…A world full of glass!”… “ wait!…Ahhhh!!!!” Wtf!!! No!!! Stupid Pack! Stupid fkn Pack!!! I gotta.. I gotta!””… this way and that… here and there, shards! Shards! Shards! No… not shards…snow! And stupid Ice chips! Everywhere, driving me crazier than I already was! People in cars stopped to stare at the crazy thwacked out guy bent over and stumbling all over as he walked scanning the sidewalks!…. ahhh!!!, wait!…nevermind people!… many of u are still gonna blaze up tonight, poor souls…regardless of my past senselessness in this tale or ur own current idiocy with that bubble. Man… life… and fkn Meth! I hate it!… oh, and I never found that baggie… and with all the ppl using around here, if it happened to u, I doubt u would either!

I am a walking contradiction of traditions some say. An African American and Native American Muslim poet with a personal life history as violently turbulent as a Storm. A visionary from the bottom of life’s social barrel striving to share the hope found in the light of faith through sometimes dark but real poetry. I’m a former member of the Bloods street gang, former serial bank robber, and both federal/state prison convict. I live on my mother’s tribal reservation of the Leech Lake band of Ojibwe in Minnesota.
