Between the garden and the fire… PR 50/50

Never lower guard to ur own foolish and presumptuous arrogance in saying to ur own self or others… “ I’m safe!… all’s well now!… I’ve made finally made it, rejoice!”…If this is ur way, then the darker side of u that rejects reality for fantasy has overcome ur reasoning. We are like hens lost in the woods hiding from every crack and pop!… for many wolves live in this forest… ur not out till ur out. The prophet Muhammad pbuh taught many times, how many a man was thought by deeds to be of the heirs of paradise but ended as a dweller of God’s fire for falling to this world into unbelief and spiritual rebellion, and how many a man was thought to be written off as human firewood because of his visible sinful nature, but ended because of sincere belief and repentance in gardens of perpetual bliss underneath which rivers flow!… no, I’m not safe till I’ve seen him personally and “passed” by his favor and mercy… between great fear and longing hope is where a wise one sets his heart, if he or she by The Creator’s will is able… so never lose hope! Peace… Redfeather.

I am a walking contradiction of traditions some say. An African American and Native American Muslim poet with a personal life history as violently turbulent as a Storm. A visionary from the bottom of life’s social barrel striving to share the hope found in the light of faith through sometimes dark but real poetry. I’m a former member of the Bloods street gang, former serial bank robber, and both federal/state prison convict. I live on my mother’s tribal reservation of the Leech Lake band of Ojibwe in Minnesota.
