Because he broke ur heart, u want to break mine for trying to heal urs… u push away the good I bring because through ur eyes it’s not the good ur love-deceived heart took in as a promise that only he would bring… oh, the blind foolishness of fleshly idol-worship! Ur human deity of blood and bone demands U demean urself with self-imposed isolation and self-denial of sincere friendship and love for???… for him to do as he pleases while he figures himself and his own feelings out but blames u and calls u a whore for daring to do the same with ur own??? I’m here, and I see u…but u don’t see me… u see him… and he sees the world and every other woman in it besides u…

I am a walking contradiction of traditions some say. An African American and Native American Muslim poet with a personal life history as violently turbulent as a Storm. A visionary from the bottom of life’s social barrel striving to share the hope found in the light of faith through sometimes dark but real poetry. I’m a former member of the Bloods street gang, former serial bank robber, and both federal/state prison convict. I live on my mother’s tribal reservation of the Leech Lake band of Ojibwe in Minnesota.
